I just upgraded my original CS 737X CDU to the new V2 and frequently reboots or goes “dark” randomly while on ground or flying (PMDG 737-700 & MSFS 2020).
I have latest firmware (V2025.2.1) and checked cable connections. I also tried with V2025.2.0 with the same results. Firmware is V5.05. Do you have any advice or suggestions?
Do you have any other USB devices connected to your computer besides the CDU?
Can you try disconnecting other USB devices and only keeping the CDU connected to the computer to see its operating status?
Or provide an external power supply for the CDU and check its operating status?
Thank you! I did move it to a stand-alone powered USB hub with nothing else connected. It did help some, but not completely. I will keep troubleshooting.
While using a 0.3mA powered USB hub (with only CDU), I am getting less random rebooting.
The CDU randomly cycles without Bridge active and not using the MSFS and also while flying.
I am suspecting a power issue, but am not an electronics technician.
I am looking for an external power supply.
On the CS www site, I see one specification for DC 9~24V ≥ 0.8A (800mA) and 3.5mm x 1.35mm (inside +) plug.
On the back of the CDU V2, it shows DC 9~24V ≥ 0.5A (500mA). I would like to confirm the best option?
Also, I never had this problems on my original CS 737X V1 CDU - on the exact same computer (i9-13900K, 64 GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 4090 graphics, PCIe NVMe Gen 4 drives, and 1200W power supply).
